Standing Stones

These are in White Cow Woods not far from Greenbrae.
"Grey recumbent tombs of the dead in desert places,
Standing stones on the vacant wine-red moor,
Hills of sheep, and the howes of the silent vanished races,
And winds, austere and pure."
Robert Louis Stevenson, 1850-1894 from Songs of Travel.
There are many sites near to us where you can see stone circles and standing stones.
We had guests staying with us who had the ashes of their husband/brother. The ashes were in small bottles and they were scattering them where he had loved to visit when alive. One of these bottles was scattered here. As the sister told me, "We are covering all the options!"
