Summer Time.

All the cows out in the fields now, some with a calf at foot. The sheep have been sheared and still have their woolly lambs with them. The crops are growing. And so are my weeds. In fact, speaking of cows, I cannot see my patio for cow parsley. Because of course the summer time sends the tourists in droves....no time for weeding.
We seem to have a strong attraction to the Italians this year. We always have a few but this year lots and lots have booked in with us, July and August. The Americans have returned so the credit crunch must be easing.
No time now for decorating - just keeping up with the cleaning, ironing, bed changes and biscuit making. etc. etc.
I am going to have to fence off my patio. This year for the first time our guests have taken to wandering round the garden, which includes of course the patio outside my bedroom. Now my bedroom is lucky to get a swift vac if the force is still with me - rarely -and it could never be described as a clean, calm, tranquil space - and, more to the point the guests all have digital cameras.... Well so do I, but you may have noticed, or not, that I never, ever show you pictures of my bedroom. As any guest who wanders that far round the garden turns swiftly away with colour draining from their face I think I can feel fairly satisfied that they havent taken any pictures in my bedrooms direction either.
