And a busy week later....

Just the skirting boards to go back. We have had a busy week and guests have been very understanding - and suitably appreciative of the new floor.

The poorly hen became poorly again. A friend has diagnosed what it is and we feel very stupid as it turns out to be worms, the cats get done regularly, but I have kept hens for years and never knew one had to worm hens....

What's happening?

We are replacing the floor in the sun room. We have a small 'window' with no guests and decided to get on with the floor, especially as there was a very good offer at the diy shop.
Mike used to be quite good at jigsaw puzzles....

My Front Garden.

Well - some of it. I WISH I could read a magazine which tells you how to cope with a BIG garden. I am fed up of reading about hanging mirrors, hiding paths, all to make your garden look bigger....
I go outside, take a deep breath, cast my eyes over the flower beds (full of weeds) and come back in again.

Playing outside.

Me and the girls have been very busy today. We planted loads of seeds in the greenhouse.

We re-potted lily bulbs.

And we planted some of my birthday presents, a hazel contortica and some evergreen firs.

They got lots of worms and I got a fair bit of compost.

Fair exchange is no robbery.

In sickness and in health.

The hen in the middle, nearest the bird bath, was 'a goner' in anyones eyes a few days ago. Pale comb, hunched and immobile. While the rest of the girls went off to play she remained, swaying in the breeze. Mike has carried her to the water, provided food - even the odd worm - and lo and behold she has decided to live.
